The top five films from last weekend's box office all maintained their respective spots with Frozen II once again claiming the crown.
The runaway smash sequel scored its third-straight No. 1 finish with $34.7M to give it at an amazing $337.6M through its first 17 days. While the drop of 60% suggests it won't continue the amazing trajectory the first film enjoyed (it dropped just 29% in its third weekend of wide release), Frozen II has out-earned it overall by $173M through the same time frame. With the Christmas holiday still in play, the sequel should bury the original's total of $400M by season's end.
Hanging on in second place with a drop of just 47%, Knives Out sliced up another $14.2M to improve its total to $63.5M through 12 days.
In third place, Ford v. Ferrari (-50%) seems to have edged out Queen & Slim (-45%) in a photo finish—both films scoring $6.5M. FvF continues to inch towards $100M with its new total of $91.1M through its fourth weekend, while Queen & Slim has accumulated $26.9M after 10 days.
In fifth place, A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood dropped 56% in its third weekend—adding $5.2M for a new overall figure of $43.1M.
