In a traditionally slow box office weekend, Angel Has Fallen had no trouble hanging on to the top spot with an $11.6M take in its second weekend. That's a drop of just 45.9% and gives the action sequel $40.7M through its first 10 days, which paces slightly ahead of the $39M figure from London Has Fallen in 2016.
Hanging out again in second place, Good Boys grabbed $9.2M in its third weekend (down only 21%) for a new grand total of $56.2M, while The Lion King jumped up from fifth to third place with $6.7M in its seventh weekend (a drop of only 16.8%). That gives The Lion King $171.6M for the season.
Fourth place went to Hobbs & Shaw, which added $6.3M in its fifth weekend (a drop of 22.2%) for a new total of $157.1M, leaving fifth place for Overcomer's $5.7M second-weekend take.
